compLexity have qualified for Dreamhack Montreal 2017 after beating Gale Force 2-0.
The North American qualifying process for DreamHack Montreal continued on Sunday with the closed stage, featuring eight teams determined by an open bracket plus eight sides invited by DreamHack.
With several teams prioritizing the ELEAGUE Premier qualifier over this one, the level was not as high as one would have expected. Luminosity and NRG, two of the favourites heading into the qualifier, both decided to pull out of the tournament in order to fight for a spot at the $1 million competition.
Complexity were the first team to reach the final after defeating Last Picks, Denial and Rogue without even losing a single map in the process. Following back-to-back 2-0 triumphs over Vault and The Fundamentals, ESEA Premier side Gale Force reached the final stage of the qualifier with a close three-map win over Naventic.
The series started on Mirage, Gale Force's pick, where Complexity ran out 16-11 winners after a strong display on the CT side earned them 12 rounds in the first half. Inferno was just as a highly contested, with Alec "Slemmy" White's men picking up a win by the exact same scoreline following a solid all-round performance.
